Eko Honours is Lagos' premier annual recognition platform, produced by TEJ Communications Limited, dedicated to celebrating extraordinary leadership and sustained impact. Each year, Eko Honours places a singular spotlight on one political leader and one industry titan whose contributions have shaped the fabric of Lagos and Nigeria.
The inaugural edition proudly recognises His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (Political Leadership) — the 15th Executive Governor of Lagos State —and Mr. Tony O. Elumelu, CFR (Industry Distinction) — Chairman of Heirs Holdings, UBA Group, and Transcorp Plc. Both represent the apex of sustained,consequential leadership.
Honorees are identified through a rigorous internal advisory process assessing demonstrated impact, leadership integrity, and lasting legacy. Eko Honours is not a public nomination or vote-based platform — the recognition carries weight precisely because it is bestowed, not applied for. The process is guided by criteria of sustained, verifiable contribution.
Each annual edition recognises exactly two individuals: one from the sphere of political leadership and one from industry. This focused structure ensures every recognition is deliberate and consequential — not a long list, but a singular statement.
